"Yüksek İhtisas University", established with the amendment made by Article 11 of Law No. 6495, published in the Official Gazette No. 28726 dated 02/08/2013, is a foundation university with public legal personality, subject to the provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 regarding Foundation Higher Education Institutions.

Yüksek İhtisas University started its education and training activities in 2015 with 51 students at the Faculty of Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine will have its first graduates in the 2020-2021 academic year. Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2016; continued education activities with the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program at the Vocational School of Health Services. This associate degree program had its first graduates in 2018. In the 2017-2018 academic year, Nursing and Health Management Departments were opened within the Faculty of Health Sciences and teaching is provided in four separate departments. In the same year, Electroneurophysiology and Operating Room Services at the Vocational School of Health Services, and Anesthesia Associate Degree Program started its education activities in the 2018-2019 academic year. The Institute of Health Sciences started education with the Anatomy Master's Program with Thesis in the 2016-2017 academic year, the Internal Medicine Nursing Master's Program with Thesis and the Medical Microbiology Master's Program with Thesis in 2017-2018, and the Medical Genetics Master's Degree with Thesis in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Our university is entering the 2024-2025 academic year even larger and stronger. During this period, four new associate degree programs were added to our Vocational School of Health Services and two new associate degree programs to our Vocational School. These; Biomedical Device Technology, Opticianry, Medical Laboratory Techniques and Medical Promotion and Marketing are the Computer Programming and Pharmacy Services programs at the Vocational School. As of the 2019-2020 academic year, technicians are being trained in ten different associate degree programs, two of which are in eight Vocational Schools in Health Services.

Our university has taken a strong step in clinical branches by signing a cooperation agreement with Medical Park and Liv Hospitals group in the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

Yüksek İhtisas University is taking determined steps to achieve its goal of becoming a leading university in Health Sciences with the slogan "Common Mind University" in the capital Ankara.
